Lunar New Year was on January 26th this year, but my family didn’t get together to celebrate until today. My cousins and their spouses were able to come up from Houston, so it was nice getting to see everyone again and catch up. As usual we all ate a little more than we should… Unfortunately [...]

Evan and I braved leaving Moira, picking up food, and driving to south OKC/Moore to hang out with Jasmine tonight. We brought some movies along and planned to just watch TV and relax, but ended up not watching anything at all. It was nice sitting around and just talking (and watching Jasmine get progressively sleepier), [...]

My last call night this month. Post-call tomorrow, then a day off Saturday. Yay!!! Here’s to a decent night in the ER! And then…dinner and a movie at Jasmine’s. Hope she doesn’t hurt when she laughs because I’m bringing Hot Fuzz and Shaun of the Dead with me.

Today’s just been one of those days where I feel like nothing’s gone right. I nearly lost control of my car getting on the highway (yikes), got to work early (yuck), found out Jasmine had a car accident the previous night (serious yuck), and noon conference was caucus (yuck again). Hopefully the last few days [...]

We leave Moira’s food dish out for her and it almost always has food in it, so she can eat whenever she wants. That doesn’t stop her from trying to get at our food though. I blame my parents for feeding her people food all the time and Evan’s mom for indulging her as well.

I am not a naturally graceful person (I know this surprises you since I hide it so well), so the thought of walking around on the icy rain that’s fallen today scares me quite a bit. The thought of driving on it in my torque-y, tiny car scares me quite a lot. So I was [...]

My current phone, which I’ve had since November 2007, is awesome. The AT&T Tilt (or HTC TyTN II) was what introduced me to HTC and pulled me away from Nokia. It was also what I’d been drooling over since the preceding summer. I love, love, love this phone. Since AT&T has 2-year contracts, I figured [...]

Moira uses her nose to push her stuff (and our arms) around and she’s now ended up with a tiny pink bald spot on the top of her nose. I tried many, many times to get a clear picture of it but I think she’s embarrassed, so she kept moving around. Or maybe she was [...]

What started out on call as a mildly irritated and scratchy throat has now become a full on URI, complete with congestion, runny nose, coughing, and increased irritability. Thank goodness Evan is so unflappable and patient with me. In other news, I need to go back to posting pics on my entries. The latest ones [...]

I went to the store today to buy some more rice since we’re all out and found out that the 25lb bag at Cao Nguyen is much heavier than I though it would be (or I’m much weaker than I realized). I was on the phone with my mom when I tried to lift it [...]

After much hair-pulling, sighing, frustration, and about an hour and a half, I finally got AT&T to admit to me that yes, the “shared unlimited messaging” package from them is for texting as well as video and picture messaging, and that yes, I should be able to freakin’ send and receive pictures on my phone. [...]

The first day back at work wasn’t too bad. I was kept pretty busy all day in clinic and unfortunately missed the big ceremony that was on every TV station EVER, but I found it online earlier this evening. One more day this week, then call, then a couple weekend shifts. Not too shabby!

For my last day of vacation, I slept in til 3pm, played LOTRO, went out for dinner, played some more LOTRO, and am now getting ready for bed. I’ve only been up 7 hours! How am I going to fall asleep at a reasonable time tonight when I stayed up until 6am this morning?!? Oh [...]

I’m spending my last night of being allowed to stay up all hours playing LOTRO and reading bits and pieces of the book that shall not be named. I’m almost done with it; I want to finish it tonight so that it’s out of the way and I can move on to something more fulfilling, [...]

Last night I finally finished reading Breakfast of Champions and am sad that I kept putting it off. I should’ve known that Vonnegut wouldn’t disappoint me and that there was, as always, some point to what he was writing. The book was made even better by the inclusion of the author as a rather strange [...]
