Happy birthday Jasmine!
Jasmine’s adorable parents cooked a ton of delicious food for us to eat for her birthday and I’m now entering a food-induced coma. Mmmm, sweet sweet sleep.

Last year for Doctor’s Day, the campus gave us collapsible coolers on wheels and I clearly remember the PICU having breakfast ready for all of us. This year, OUMC gave us backpacks, penlights (without batteries), and free breakfast and (regular) Starbucks coffee. And Stephanie, our totally awesome case manager, also brought in homemade Easter cupcakes [...]
Watching Moira sneak around the house Sunday morning after my sisters spent the night was one of the cutest things she’s done in a long time. Of course, once they started getting up, she was all over them and acting more like herself.
I hope we don’t get horribly sick from staying outside all afternoon at the medieval fair today in the cold, wind, and rain… It was still a lot of fun though!
After work today, Evan and I met up with Jasmine and Adrienne at Louie’s on Lakeside for dinner. I realized I hadn’t fully thought through my plan to hang out when we got there and saw that it was packed because of the basketball game and because it’s Friday date night. Oops. We sat around [...]
The long, tiring day was wonderfully topped off with blackberry cobbler, vanilla ice cream, and cuddling together on the couch. The only thing that would make this better is a day off tomorrow.
I think I really only have the attention span to stick with a rotation for about 3.5 weeks. Even though I enjoy heme/onc and think the attending is awesome, I’m starting to feel ready to move onto something different. I’m sure I’ll miss it once I leave though…
Because of a late admission this afternoon, I didn’t leave the hospital until 6pm. 6pm! I hardly ever stay later than I’m scheduled to. As you can imagine this didn’t put me in a very good mood. Thankfully Evan picked up on this and very wisely suggested grabbing frozen custard after dinner. So here I [...]
Our buddy Vu was in town this weekend and came over yesterday evening to chat and hang out for a bit. Moira, in the weirdest fit I’ve seen her have, barked rather aggressively at him while wagging her tail excitedly for about 5 minutes, and then acted very wary around him for about another 15. [...]
Anna and Bryan are on their way back from Chicago today with Watson in their backseat! Half corgi, half shiba. Apparently he’s corgi-sized with corgi legs (30lbs, stumpy legs) and has a loosely curled long tail like a shiba. Can’t wait to meet him!
I slept in til 6am on my day off (woohoo!) and after bumming around a bit, Evan and I went to test drive my top 2 contenders for our next car. First was the 2010 Nissan Rogue S Krom. We’d already taken its big sibling, the Murano, out for a drive, but that was out [...]
Today was Match Day, when we find out who the incoming interns will be in July (more importantly, the day 4th year medical students find out where they’ll be for the next 3-5 years), and our list looks great! All the matches that I’d met were wonderful and I can’t wait to work with them!
Millenium Falcon kicks have been ordered and will be here tomorrow. I’ll be test driving fancy new cars in my fancy new shoes Friday!!! Still on the hunt for the X-wing and Death Star ones…they were sold out on the Adidas website.
