More good-byes

30 June, 2010 (20:07) | residency | By: Gina

Ami had a little end-of-residency party in the lounge today and most of her classmates were able to show up for a few minutes to hug, laugh, and enjoy some brownies before heading back to work.  I’m sad to see them go (most of them will actually still be around, which is great), but I’m also happy to be moving on to my own 3rd year of residency.

However, if high school, undergrad, and med school have taught me anything, it’s that my own personal senioritis settles in much earlier than it should.  In high school, I started slacking off a month or so before spring break.  In undergrad, I quit studying and caring the minute I got the acceptance letter into med school…the weekend before finals week in December.  In med school, I managed to work only one weekend and two overnight calls in all of 4th year.  And now, I’m getting my pens out to start the countdown until June 30th, 2011 on my calendar.
