Moira’s Misadventures
Moira didn’t eat her food for about 3 days. Of course, being the completely unobservant person I am when at home, I didn’t realize this. Evan had noticed though and opted not to tell me til this was all over so I wouldn’t worry about it. He justifies this by telling me that Moira was still trying to get to our food when we were eating, so she must not have been all that sick.
While I was at work one night, Evan noticed Moira whining, which she’d been doing with increasing frequency, and tried to track down why she was doing so. She’d whine a bit, look at him, look in the kitchen, and whine again. Finally, she got up and went to get a drink of water and a couple bites of her food. Her tail was down though, a sure sign of fright and defeat in the little puppy, and she left the kitchen as quickly as she could. She did not seem to have any problems coming into the kitchen to try and beg for food from Evan though.
Noticing the odd behavior, Evan took away the place mat under Moira’s food and water dishes, and voila!, all was right with the world for the dog. She chowed down, drank her fill, and trotted off to take a nap.
I’m not sure what it was that made Moira afraid of her mat, but because of it, she’d gone hungry for 3 days. Poor little chicken butt
