Evan and I flew back home with our families yesterday afternoon. The trip to Mexico itself was awesome, as expected, and the trip home went well with the exception of the bomb scare at Will Rogers that caused us to wait around an extra hour and a half at DFW (45 minutes of which were [...]

We dropped Moira off at Camp Bow Wow for her 2 week vacation from us today (she was so excited to go join her friends that she just marched right in and ditched us!) and then spent some time with our families before we came back home. Now we’re all packed and ready to get [...]

My sisters were both surprisingly free this afternoon, so they both came over after work today for some dinner, shopping, and Futurama. Of course, there was lots of wedding and reception talk as well. I can’t believe we’re heading to Mexico in just 2 weeks!!!

I spent a large portion of Sunday with my sisters and parents digging through old family pictures to find a few baby ones of myself for our end of the year banquet. Mom and Dad had a good laugh at my persistent baldness until the ripe old age of 18 months and at how much [...]

I got a really cute blanket pattern from Courtney, the NICU fellow, today and plan to go buy some yarn tomorrow to try it out. I think it’s the pattern I’ll use to make one of the many baby blankets I have lined up for friends who are expecting over the next few months. So [...]

The past 3 weeks my parents enjoyed a little (big) vacation to Vietnam and they returned today! Luckily today was one of my short days in the NICU (27 days left, woohoo!) so Evan and I had plenty of time to head down there and hang out with them. They both look well and happy, [...]

Tomorrow, for Jasmine’s birthday celebration with her adoptive family, we’re going to the medieval fair in Norman and then having a cookout. A cookout with burgers and topped off with beer floats!

My sisters and their boys came up tonight for dinner at Milagro’s and Zombieland, and then they’re coming up again tomorrow for the Thunder game. It’s been a good way to get my mind off work for a bit. Of course, now I’m super sleepy and need to get ready to go back in tomorrow.

Mom and Dad are leaving early tomorrow morning to go to Vietnam for 3 weeks, so we spent the afternoon and evening hanging out with them today. The fancy-pants Vietnamese wedding announcements are printed and sealed and ready to go as well. We would’ve probably stuck around a bit longer if Mom didn’t have all [...]

My family was supposed to get together last Saturday to celebrate Lunar New Year, but Grandpa postponed it til this weekend because of the weather. As always, there was lots of (loud) talking from the uncles, running around by the kids, and food, and more food, and more and more food. Then New Year’s money! [...]

After spending about 15 minutes bundling ourselves up, Evan and I got the ol’ harness on Moira and took her outside. It was much, much colder than when we took her out in the snow last year, but she still seemed to enjoy it (at first anyway). She started shivering a little when she was [...]

Today was quite a bit more low-key than yesterday (though still hugely enjoyable). We slept in, had lunch, took a nap, and then went to my parents’ house for dinner. We topped off the night by all gathering around in the family room, with Moira in tow, to watch How to Train Your Dragon, one [...]

Christmas eve, for us, has played out pretty much the same way the last few years. We started off by celebrating Moira’s birthday (she’s 3 today!!!), and then we scrambled for last minute gifts, baked/cooked as needed, and then wrapped the gifts. We then headed to Evan’s family gathering for dinner and gift-exchange, then to [...]

Evan’s had his desktop computer hooked up to the TV for some time now for Netflix movie watching (before the Wii app was out). Tonight he’s figured out the appropriate settings on his PC so he can play those games on our TV as well. After hanging out with my sisters this afternoon, relaxing on [...]

Mom made spring rolls for Thanksgiving dinner #1 tonight, and they were delicious. Tomorrow will be Thanksgiving dinner #2 with Evan’s family, and then Sunday will be Thanksgiving dinner #3 with my family with more traditional food. Then I’ll have an entire week off to recover before returning to work!
