So…oops! I started my blog during intern year with every intention to blog daily, keeping a record (mostly for me to look back upon) of the time spent in residency. I mostly stuck with it, but with my vacation and the very busy month of June, I didn’t blog at all during the last 6 [...]

Saurabh wanted to come by today to pick up his JetPens order and naturally, he’d kidnapped Jasmine and Ajla to come along as well. What was supposed to be a quick visit turned into a much longer affair, complete with trying to spice up friends’ love lives and other things that probably shouldn’t be mentioned. [...]

Evan, Jasmine, Rachna, and I met up with Michelle downtown today to have some dinner at the Festival of the Arts and take a look around. Unfortunately, as Jasmine pointed out, each time we try to take a brown person with us to a fair it gets far too windy. Rachna and Jasmine both lost [...]

Tomorrow, for Jasmine’s birthday celebration with her adoptive family, we’re going to the medieval fair in Norman and then having a cookout. A cookout with burgers and topped off with beer floats!

We went out for Jasmine’s birthday dinner and managed to shorten our wait time for a table by shrinking the truth a little and saying we had fewer guests than were actually coming. The highlight of the evening was definitely passing baby Kate around (this is what happens when you bring a baby out to [...]

Jasmine’s the only person I know born on April Fools’ Day, and somehow it fits her. (Not saying she’s a fool or anything, but you know…it just seems right that she’s the only person I know born on that day.) Looking forward to dinner with friends tomorrow and then the Medieval Fair and cooking out [...]

My sisters and their boys came up tonight for dinner at Milagro’s and Zombieland, and then they’re coming up again tomorrow for the Thunder game. It’s been a good way to get my mind off work for a bit. Of course, now I’m super sleepy and need to get ready to go back in tomorrow.

I had entirely too much good Indian food and chai tonight while goofing off with friends. I’m really going to miss everyone when we all disperse in a few months.

After spending all morning talking about food, Evan and I met up with Jasmine, Saurabh, and Ajla at Pho Hoa after work and then hung out some more afterwards at Cuppies ‘n’ Joe. We’ve decided we need to form an official think tank and come up with get-rich-quick schemes for ourselves so we can all [...]

Now that I’m in the final six months of residency, I find the countdown (while exciting) to be rather bittersweet. I won’t miss the residency part of the whole thing, but I will definitely miss the people. Not just fellow residents, but also the attendings, nurses, RTs, clerks, transport people, and everyone else who helps [...]

I realized this week that I’ll soon have several more baby blankets to make for my expecting friends. Too early yet to know if they’re having boys or girls, but I can’t wait to get started on them!

Whenever I come across names I like, or names I find extra-nerdy (sometimes they’re the same thing), I run them by Evan as possible names for our kids later on. We don’t plan on having kids for another 4-5 years or so, but hey, we’ve been together nearly 10 years. Most of the time I [...]

We had a quick last-minute change of location for dinner tonight to Grand House, since Travel by Taste closes at the unreasonably early (for us) time of 8pm. Evan, Jasmine, and I got there at 7 and everyone else made it shortly after, filtering in basically as soon as they got off work. Over all [...]

After taking a nice nap yesterday afternoon, I met up with Jasmine, Ajla, Rachna, and Raj at nearby Penn Square Mall. Shortly after arrival, I decided I must be getting old since I found the very crowded and loud mall somewhat annoying. No matter though, since I was having a lot of fun with my [...]

Mehwish and I stopped by the lounge today after noon conference and found a couple boxes of cereal and packets of hot chocolate mix on the table, as well as whipped cream and cartons of milk in the fridge. After practically no discussion, we both figured the selection was Jasmine’s doing, grabbed our drinks, and [...]
