Evan, Jasmine, Rachna, and I met up with Michelle downtown today to have some dinner at the Festival of the Arts and take a look around. Unfortunately, as Jasmine pointed out, each time we try to take a brown person with us to a fair it gets far too windy. Rachna and Jasmine both lost some of their food and Jasmine had powdered sugar blown all over herself from our funnel cake. It was still fun though, and the night was topped off by just hanging out and relaxing at Rachna’s before we all admitted to being old and calling it a night.

I think we’re going to attempt the Renaissance Faire in Muskogee next week…perhaps with more than one brown person. Hopefully we won’t all get swept away…

We went out for Jasmine’s birthday dinner and managed to shorten our wait time for a table by shrinking the truth a little and saying we had fewer guests than were actually coming. The highlight of the evening was definitely passing baby Kate around (this is what happens when you bring a baby out to play with a bunch of pediatricians). This is a daring thing to do since she’s 4 and a half months old and could cry at any moment, but luckily she handled it like a champ. (And I taught her all about Star Wars from my phone!). After much oohing and aahing over the baby, we called it an evening a little early since people have to work the next day, and split.

I don’t have to work the next day though, so I insisted on playing some more Lego Star Wars 3 when we got home. This was probably a mistake since I yawned through most of the level, but at least I finally had something to blame for my terrible aiming in game.

Jasmine and I met with our future boss Wednesday afternoon to talk about the job we’re starting in a few months. The talk went pretty well and we now know who to contact about little details here and there. What Shannon told me about that I had not thought of before though was that we’d need office supplies for our office at Saint’s. Office supplies! Pens and pencils and stationery and stuff!!! As if I wasn’t excited about my new job already! Now I just wonder if I can buy said office supplies from wherever I want (aka JetPens) or if I have to go through some specific company.

In our quest to find something silly and entertaining to watch, Evan and I decided to start watching the old British show Red Dwarf tonight. Red Dwarf started in the late 80s, and as I’ve learned after reading its Wiki article, ran until 1999, with another season planned for 2012. It’s not really laugh-out-loud funny but it’s amusing, and it’s definitely British. The first episode didn’t do much to draw me in or make me laugh, but for some reason we both felt compelled to watch the second episode. The only reason we stopped there was because I need to go back to bed before being on call tomorrow. We may have to keep watching the rest of the eight seasons throughout the month so I don’t go crazy thanks to work…
