I go through these phases all the time when I think Evan and I should get another dog. The dog breed changes pretty regularly, depending on what we’ve seen recently or whatever (it’s one of the few things we’re fickle about). Tonight though, while on call, one of the patients was watching a dog show [...]

Moira seemed to like playing in the snow last week, but not in the wind. Hopefully we’ll get a chance to test that hypothesis this week…

After spending about 15 minutes bundling ourselves up, Evan and I got the ol’ harness on Moira and took her outside. It was much, much colder than when we took her out in the snow last year, but she still seemed to enjoy it (at first anyway). She started shivering a little when she was [...]

Snow means one thing around here: getting the dog out in it ASAP. If last year’s snowfalls taught me anything, it’s that Moira 1. loves the snow but will pick through it rather daintily so she doesn’t get dirty, 2. gets the white stuff all over her face, and 3. smells inexplicably like freshly steamed [...]

Moira didn’t eat her food for about 3 days. Of course, being the completely unobservant person I am when at home, I didn’t realize this. Evan had noticed though and opted not to tell me til this was all over so I wouldn’t worry about it. He justifies this by telling me that Moira was [...]

Just heading to work today, Moira was scrambling around in the hall and ran into the bedroom door frame. She looked pretty traumatized by the whole thing (bruised ego more than anything since she’s jumping around just fine), and sulked on our bed until we coaxed her out of the bedroom with some treats. After [...]

Mom’s recently decided she wants a dog too (not sure if Dad knows or how he feels about that…). After some poking around on petfinder.com, she found an adorable ~6mo shi tzu male named Dallas. If she gets the puppy, it would be so cute to see Moira, Watson, and Dallas all playing together over [...]

I mixed in a little bit of a different brand of dog food with Moira’s regular stuff this weekend, just to see if she’d like it, and she did something rather odd. She’d grab a mouthful of food and spit it back out next to her bowl, all over the kitchen floor. She then preceded [...]

How to Train Your Dragon is a very cute movie. I’d sort of wanted to see it in theaters but waited until it was available on Netflix so we could enjoy it in the comfort of our own home. This also lead to the very easy comparisons we kept making between the dragon in the [...]

Moira has taken to cuddling with me when I sleep. She was against me when I fell asleep and was in more or less the same position when I woke up this morning. This makes me unreasonably happy.

Since Moira would never, ever let me put any type of clothing on her, I had to settle for some Photoshop instead. Yes, Photoshop (Photoshop Elements, anyway). Not MS Paint. I’ve got mad skillz. Maybe if I had a full copy of Photoshop, this would look better.

Evan and I were at Barnes and Noble the other night when I noticed a Harry Potter display just outside their children’s books section (What? It was a perfectly reasonable place for me to be.) I looked around the table a bit and to my surprise, I found The Noble Collection’s replica of Hermione’s wand [...]

Evan and I picked up Jasmine and then dropped off Moira before heading to Orlando. Moira was exceptionally well-behaved the whole car ride to Camp Bow Wow, acted like herself when she greeted the girls at the camp, but then gave us terribly scornful looks as we said bye to her and left. She seemed [...]

Now I’m really feeling nervous about dropping Moira off at Camp Bow Wow for the weekend. I think she must know something is going on, because she’s been unusually cuddly lately. Climbing into Evan’s lap while he plays video games on the couch is not the Moira we’re familiar with.

When we picked Moira up from Camp Bow Wow after her interview, we went ahead and booked a short stay for her while we’re in Orlando. Now that we’re approaching the trip, I find I’m apprehensive about leaving her for a few days. The only other time we’ve left her was when we went to [...]
